Space Environment Laboratory

Space weather forecasting has become increasingly relevant to the social life of human beings.

Space environment disturbances originating from solar activities affect the terrestrial magnetosphere and ionosphere, and threaten the safe use of social infrastructures, such as the disruption of wireless communications and the malfunction of artificial satellites.

To contribute to the reduction of disasters caused by space environment disturbances, the Space Weather and Environment Informatics Laboratory issues a daily space weather forecast.

For achieving high forecasting accuracy of space weather, we have studied the space weather forecast by expanding an observation network for space environment and developing space environment simulators.
